Church off of Pennsylvania Turnpike?
When my parents and I drive to New York, we always pass this beautiful building that we can see from the Penn Turnpike. It's somewhat near Ohio, and it's in Pittsburg. I think the exit might have said Johnsville or Johnsonville? I'm pretty sure it's between Ohio and Hershey. Anyways we've been tryin to figure out if it's a church or a college or something. It's pretty high up and has a dome-like roof. From the turnpike it looks maybe goldish? Can anyone help out?

I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. The only town with "John" in it would be Johnstown, and that's a little further from the Ohio border than Pittsburgh.
Between Ohio and Hershey is a lot of space about 4 1/2 hours worth.
Sorry I can't be of more help, it's not ringing a bell

Would it be close to the Monroeville exit, on the right (headed east)? There is an Eastern Orthodox church there that looks very interesting, and it's also close to a Bahai temple (on the same side of the road).

I thought there was only one Baha'i temple in the U.S. -- I'm curious about this (I was Baha'i for a short time). Interesting!

Yeah I think it was Johnstown (thanks kddani!) and Monroeville. I remember those two names but I remember Johnstown for sure. I duno but it's a beautiful building. Going east towards NY, it's on the left, I'm pretty sure. It's pretty far off the turnpike.

I stand corrected about the Bahai Temple; it's Sri Venkatewara Temple of the Hindu-Jain faith:
And it's very visible from the highway, near Monroeville (east of Pittsburgh).
FYI, I found "the definitive list of houses of worship in Pennsylvania". My own church, there since 1773 (232 years ago, for those who don't feel like doing the math) is not on that list!
Definitive? I think not.

Thats the place from the flood, right?
So have they done anything since then? It'd kinda suck if your towns moment in fame happened 122 years ago or whatever. Kinda makes the local HS graduation anticlimatic.
BTW, them are some fake ass pictures. That shit looks like Angkor Watt or whatever that shit is in Cambodia.
You and your family must have been hella lost if you saw this shit from the freeway.
Again, I apologize. I am drunk. Billy O Style. lol.

I think the other 'burgh people will back me up on the temple bit, seriously.
As for Johnstown, there really has been another "great thing" that's come out of it: Slap Shot was filmed there!

'Tis indeed. The area around it is really beautiful...the bike portion takes us through this beautiful gorge. The city itself though is struggling a bit.
