questions for the teachers

I have entertained the idea of one day teaching anywhere from high school to college and i know there are a few teachers on these boards. Anyway, my questions are "what are the greatest challenges of teaching" and "what are some key qualities to becoming an effective teacher"?


Any help you all can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, there are many educators on GC. I am going to close this thread because there are several threads on teachers/schools/etc. Before I responded to your post, I performed a SEARCH (of THIS forum) using the word "teacher". I found MANY threads. If you feel after you have gone through those threads you haven't gained enough information, let me know (via PM). I did not perform a SEARCH using the word "educator". You might find more threads under that search.

I WILL tell you this. Children will try to "get over." YOU have to set the tone and let the CHILDREN (they forget they are children) know that YOU are the BOSS FROM DAY ONE! Once they cross YOUR threshold, it's KOTS' world and they must follow the rules of KOTS' world or else. LOL
