In this thread we discuss....

Why Abercrombie doesn't sell anything black... has anyone else noticed that that none of their merchandise comes in black? Does anyone know why ?

AE doesn't either. Or, they used to not. I haven't been in there in ages (it makes me feel old ).

Whoa. I've never noticed, but you're right. I don't shop there because I don't like wearing the same thing as everyone else in the world, but I go in there with my younger sister.

Abercrombie is way too proud of their clothing...

If I want a pair of jeans with holes in them, I'm certainly not going to pay $80 for them, when I can go to walmart and buy a pair for $20 and then just run over them with my car a few times, to achieve the same look.....

Abercrombie & Fitch used to be a classy store----professional clothing for men and women (i.e. 3 piece suits, etc.) So sad what they are now.....

You obviously have no idea what cool jeans are.

I used to like Abercrombie and Fitch in high school and early college days. They had good quality things a la Eddie Bauer and the prices were reasonable. (plus all the guys working there were hot. ) Now...not my thing.

I wear A&F when I go on safaris.

There are two lies in that sentence.

My friend's lil sister works there and she says they "are a navybased store". Meaning the darkest color you'll find is navy blue...

I've pretty much outgrown A + F, but I can't resist their polo shirts!

I like their polos too. I usually buy mine from A&F kids 'cause they are so cheap there!

so, any ideas WHY they don't sell black ?? I know their clothes are of questionable quality sometimes, and I know their popularity is going down.
I'm just curious WHY they are a "Navy based store" I've never heard that term before, nor noticed a store that just doesn't make any of their clothes in a particular color, and I've worked my share of retail/clothing store jobs.

I never really realized that until you mentioned it.

Werid.

I used to like their clothes, but then everytime I"d go in I"d see size 00 or something smaller than 0. And it made me feel like I was shopping for like my kid sister or something.

No offense to those that wear 00.

Maybe they don't sell black because black looks professional and they are targeting to a very select young market. On their website they say something like 17-22.
