Paris Hilton Gets Engaged

Paris Hilton is engaged to her boyfriend of five months, Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis. Hilton’s spokesman, Rob Shuter, tells PEOPLE: “They are happy and excited.”

Latsis, 27, proposed on Wednesday, the day Hilton, 24, returned home to Los Angeles after a three-week trip to Europe, where she promoted her thriller House of Wax and her new fragrance.

The couple celebrated yesterday with a barbecue for 75 friends and family at the Hollywood Hills home they share.

"I'm very in love – he's the one," Hilton told PEOPLE earlier this month. "I want to have kids in the next two years, because I know that completes your life."

No date has been set for the wedding. This will be the first marriage for both.

The first marriage and certainly not the last.

I absolutely cannot WAIT until she comes to my island to film The Simple Life 4. I'm trying to picture her trying to work alongside the locals here. Should be funny.

At least he knows she likes to be kinky.

IF they get married, I give it 3 months tops.

She was in my hometown and from what I heard stiffed some business before she left. She also caused a headache for the police, who had to control the crowds. But it was worth it, because the final cut for the show featured a guy I went to HS with (and didn't like very much) getting walked on with his gf, who he tried to hide under the bed from his mom or whoever. Mildly amusing

I can't believe I'm defending her, but how is that lame? I highly doubt she purposely set out and said "I want to meet someone with the same name as me and now that I have I should marry him just for that."

Would you think it was lame if I married someone with the name Nicholas since my name is Nicole?

no surprise here, she was gushing on and on when she was on the View about how he was the one, that she was going to marry her, blah blah blah.

Would love to see their prenup. They both have a ton of money.

While I don't give her much attention, really...

My sister's neighbors have the same first name. "Kim"

Their family calls them "Kim-he and Kim-she". They have been sweethearts since 9th grade.

Wasn't she was previously engaged? He was from the Chicago area, so I thought that got some press here. I believe he was a model.

ummm... I don't remember. But her sister was married, then annulled.

Yeah, I forgot about that. She was engaged to a model named Jason Shaw. They broke it off in 2002.
