Another computer question thread

I am having computer issues.

Here's the problem: every now and then my computer will beep at me and the mouse will freeze. The mouse only freezes for a few seconds, but it will freeze and then unfreeze anywhere from every few seconds to every few minutes till sometimes not at all.

I's really annoying. Does anyone know why it's doing this and how can I fix it.

Thanks!

Is your mouse the same one that came w/ your computer? Sometimes the mouse won't be compatible w/ the operating system, and it will do exactly what you just described.

It will also do that if the connector is loose. Could you be kicking the mouse cable with your foot or something?

I checked my connection, and that's fine. But it's not the same mouse that came with my computer, but my computer on recently started doing this, and this "new" mouse, we've had for over a year.

I bet that's what it is. It will get worse. When I first started my job, the mouse started doing that after about three months. I didn't think anything of it, until programs started freezing and my monitor would flash. It just takes a while to react for some reason.

Try getting a new mouse.
