AI "Class of 2005" Where are you now?
For all you fellow new AI initiates, I'd love to hear an update! What's life been like after initiation? What have you been doing with your chapter? And... which badge did you order?
I've been very active... gone to our book club meetings, scrap booking, etc. And, I've just been put on the slate for VP Events and Programming! (This is something I am REALLY looking forward to as I can help plan what we'll be doing beginning next September!)
I still haven't received my badge due to a minor snafu... but hoping to get it straightened out in the next few weeks.

Blueangel,
Congrats on being put on the slate! That's wonderful news!
Hven't been initiated yet, but know it will be in the fall. I am having a great time, though, getting to know some KD sisters here from GC, with the possibility of meeting one while we are in LA next week.
How are the rest of you ladies?

Jill is pretty cool too, don't let her fool ya. It was so awesome to put a name to her face since I read her thread when she was doing the AI thing...

I waited two decades for this, so I went for the major bling! I don't know how to post pictures either, but I ordered the all-diamond badge (the third one down). I also ordered a chapter guard so I don't lose it!

Due to a paperwork snafu, I still haven't received it yet.

an update
I was initiated just last month (May 8th) so I haven't been too involved yet, which was to be expected, since school is out for the summer and I have A LOT going on personally right now. However, I will be helping out with rush/recruitment this fall, and have been asked to look at my chapter's current website and make suggestions/updates.
I also received a nice note from the local Tri Delta alumnae chapter congratulating me on my initiation and inviting me to some of their events. I was impressed! The Tri Deltas are so organized!!
I did receive my badge the other week - it's breathtakingly gorgeous!! Even though I've had my sponsor's badge since the night I was initiated, I was still in awe of it when I received it. Tri Delta has just one standard badge, which is nice because I like simple things and don't have to worry about upgrading to a fancier badge with more "bling" so I don't look like the poor (Tri Delta) sister!!

Holy moly!!! That's gorgeous!
You know, maybe if I have a daughter one day, and she goes Gamma Phi Beta, I'll give her my badge to wear. It would be so neat to pass my beloved badge to my daughter.
Of course, I would need a new one, right? I could then replace it with the all diamond badge. That way, when someone says, "Ooohhh....you have an all diamond badge!" I can tell them, "Yes, it's my celebration badge. I'm celebrating because my daughter is a Gamma Phi Beta too!"

Thanks for posting it, DGMarie. How did you do that? BTW-- I was lurking on the DG forum, and saw some GORGEOUS DG badges. I have a thing for anchors... and have a lot of anchor jewelry.
Which badge do you have, Navene?
I was SO going back and forth on the badge. Being a libra doesn't help me make decisions like this either! I remember that in college, a representative came out to the Zeta house to show the girls all the different badges.. but when you're AI, you just have to go from a photo. It's kind of hard to make that big of a decision without seeing the actual badge.
I love saphires... and I was originally going to buy the alternating diamond and saphire badge. But, then when I was ordering my badge, I found that we changed jewelry companies. Burr, Paterson, and Auld sent me a picture of the all-diamond badge, and I said, "Oh.. I LOVE this... should I? Should I? Oh... I dunno.... hmmmm.... well.. yeah... why not!"
I can't wait till it arrives. I'm told I should have it in another couple of weeks.

The Tridelta badge is absolutely awesome!
I can just imagine your face when you opened up the package in the mail to see the beautiful badge of Delta Delta Delta! You have one of the most unique and gorgeous pins I've ever seen.
Don't worry, you'll be busy enough beginning in September. You're very smart, and I know the Alumnae chapter is going to make good use of your many talents!
I'm fortunate in that the Zeta chapter began letting me participate as if I was a sister then, way back in November. That's why I got so involved so quickly. I really enjoy their events and spending time with the chapter. The only problem is that I live pretty far away, so I'm always driving between an hour and two hours for each meeting and event. But, it's worth the drive

It is easy to post a photo.
1. go to the site which has the photo.
2. right click the photo and select properties
3. select the Address (URL) for the photo that shows in the properties dialog box and copy it
4. come to gc and open a new message
5. click the IMG button (above the message area)
6. paste the URL you copied
7. post the message.
