I graduated college in December and I had a really hard time finding the job I would love to do. I majored in communications and it seemed like there was nothing out there that excited or that I wanted to do. Luckily my parents let me take my time and use my energy for finding the right job, instead of just taking any job.
I found my dream job one day in the paper, but it said you had to have atleast 5 yrs experience.. I obviously didn't have that, but I applied anyways. Never expecting it, I actually was asked to interview, then asked for a second interview and finally last week Fri was told I have the position.
It turned out that it wasn't what my major was, it was because of my involvement with chi omega. You see the job was for an event planner and fundraiser for a major non for profit charity (will tell more when i sign my papers and start).. but it involves children. They loved that I participated in charitiable events, took on two exec positions and eventually became president of my chapter. It really made all the aggrivation, tears and stress from being on President seem worth it

They were impressed that I could conduct meetings, talk in public, and micromanage events and situation.
Whoever says that being involved in a sorority is pointless and wont benefit you in the future has absolutely no idea what they are talking about.
Thank you Chi O.
