Anyone here have live-in girlfriends?

Anyone here have problems with crap your sigO wants to do to YOUR place? Like my girl hasnt even been here for a week and she's already fucking everything up. Like what was one a huge walk-in closet for me is now a space of about 3 feet for me and absolutly no rack space for my shoes. I have 8 pairs of shoes and she's taking up all the rack space for all her shoes. My poor shoes have to sit at the entrance of the condo as if I was a guest staying over for a few hours. I don't understand how in the hell someone who is 5'1 can take up so much space with so many damn clothes. And then there's the issue of her telling me last night that she wants to get rid of all my furniture and the two of us going and buying all new stuff that doesnt look so "bachelorish". Like how in the hell does black leather couches-REAL ITALIAN LEATHER-look "gainesville style"? She wants to get some furniture that looks like something some 34/35 year old woman would want for a new house. Im not trying to get stuff that appeals to early 30s to early 40s couples. My boys are still going to be coming over even though her and I are living together. If they saw some of this crap in my condo they'd start laughing at me. And if I wouldnt have started yelling at her she'd already have plans to change room 2 which is used as a home office and carries a "Scarface" theme. I have it all Tony Montana'd out. It has a desk, a boxed mirror with a razor in it that has TM carved on the blade, a leather chair, a leather love seat, a laptop and 22 inch plasma monitor on the wall. The room is red. I have a 5 1/2 foot framed picture of Tony Montana holding a gun with the phrase "The World is Yours" above him. Needless to say she said I can keep the office but everything else needs to go before her sister and her boyfriend come visit us for a week from Los Angeles. And another thing that pisses me off is how much toilet paper she uses!!!! My God!!! Has anyone ever noticed how much toilet paper a chick uses? I bought 4 rolls, which lasts me about a month, and they were all gone in a little over a week! We're sitting there eating and I'm watching her chew her food and I start thinking about that food and wtf ends up coming out of her that makes her use so much damn toilet paper. Like I'm purposely avoiding spices in case her stomach can't handle it because I have no idea what goes on in the bathroom that makes a chick use 4 rolls in about a week. And another thing that aggrevates the fuck out of me is the fact that she has the bathroom looking like a cross between a hair salon and a spa. The girl has all electrical outlets used up in the bathroom for her blowdryers, straighteners and curling iron. And when we're getting ready to go out she makes it where it gets so freaking hot in there!! I have to turn the air down to 60 degrees because she's steaming the whole place up. When I'm not thinking about all the electricity she's using from all the hair equiptment my mind is tied up in disbelief at the huge basket of perfumes and lotions she has. Like she's got so many she cant even have them all sitting up on the counter....she's got to have a freaking basket for all of them. And last but not least, she's even trying to take over my refrigerator. She buys things we don't even eat just to make it look "pretty" inside. Like she bought 3 boxes of strawberries and let them go to waste. She even bought stalks of corn just to make it look nice inside, meanwhile she threw away my sauerkraut because she thought it was nasty and didnt think I ate it. WTF do you think it was doing in there in the first place!!!!

Whew!!! I feel better now.

Is this normal?

hubby better count his blessings that i love scarface as much as he does...(we have a room like your office too, though its not red, but yours sounds really sweet).

She got flustered because i had dried up beer stains on the shelves of the fridge.

The office it tight. My next project is to find blinds that when you have them shut you have that sunset on biscayne bay scene in Frank Lopez's office.

We don't have issues, just different opinions. And trust me, we'll be coming to a mutual understanding as to whats going to be replacing the current furniture.

I think the only place you can get the blinds is here in Miami. Trick Daddy has them in his house here in Dade County. And he has an average looking home at that. But the blinds are sick indeed.

They look kind of ghetto. Have you ever seen the ones that run north & south and are really fat?

Craig,

The thing is, she moved in, so its now both of your place, not just yours. And she needs to feel comfortable there. Everything you are dealing with is normal.

Women use a lot of toilet paper. Unlike men, we MUST use it EVERYTIME we go to the bathroom. Think about it. We're shaped differently. lol

It is VERY hard in the beginning when you live together. It is even harder if someone moves into YOUR place. For the person living there first, it can be hard to relinquish the thought of it being MINE. Its not MINE anymore Craig, its OURS.

Good luck!
A

oh, i didn't mean as issues, i guess that was implied as difference of opinions and preference....lol!! i would hope you didn't have issues if she just moved in!

good luck, hopefully it will all work and and both will be happy with the furniture and decor.

Oh and even if I was still 25... I'd be all "out with the black leather couches" too.

Women don't want to live in bachelor pads or dorm rooms. Those don't bespeak permanance. And when we move in with our guy, we're not thinking in terms of impermanence.

The rest of it was fairly normal. Buying produce just to spruce up the fridge, however, is not.

Maybe she is hoping that their house will be on MTV Cribs...most of those people have the inside of their fridges looking all pretty...

As for the real issue here, I am sorry to say Craig I have no good advice. I have never lived with a boyfriend before, but I am sure that when I do he will go just as crazy as you are right now...not b/c I have a lot of stuff but b/c I am a perfectionist to the point of being really annoying about it (I annoy myself for crying out loud). I pity the poor man who ever decides to move in with me....
