Conversation Piece
What is the 1 thing in your home that is a coversation piece when visitors come calling?
I have a huge painting called KNOWLEDGE IS THE KEY on my living room wall. It has created long debates over the years.

We don't have one, but two HUGE pictures on my wall. One of The Alpha "In The Beginning" and the other is Zeta "The Five Pearls".

Hmmmm.....
It would have to be either the chess boards (I collect from all over the world) or the thousands of different types of music that line my walls.

I have a couple of things folks notice first off:
1. I have a large limited edition signed serigraph of Erte's "Ebony and White" that people either really like or don't.
2. People who love old houses usually comment on the amount (not the quality because it hasn't been refinished) of unpainted woodwork I have around the doorways and floorboards.

I would have to say that the African hand carvings always start up conversation at my house.

I just got a house on May 23rd. Needless to say, I have yet to add anything that would start conversations. I moved from a 646 sq. foot apartment to a four bed room house. I am horrible at decorating so it still echos when people talk. Hey, I suppose that is the conversation piece!!! People talk about the echo!!!

I have a 37 in television in my front room that everyone thinks is possessed. It cuts off right in the middle of watching it and won't come back on until it's ready. At first, it used to scare the heck out of me when it would just pop on at 3 in the morning and I'm asleep. I plan on getting it fixed or a new one but since I don't spend that much time in the front room, it hasn't been at the top of my list.

So I moved into this town house last year. The downstairs is a neutral eggshell color but once you take a trip upstairs the hallway and bathroom are painted lime green and the bedrooms are orange. It is such a transition and the color scheme is just so different. I have not gotten around to painting yet and people always talk about it when they visit. They always ask me if I did it and when i sya it was like this when I moved in they asked if I know who lived here before me.
