3d!
I had my 3D tonight! It was kind of sad though. I'm going to miss everyone once I graduate. However, I might be staying around for a couple of years. Anyway, I had my 3D! Yay!

First Susan i want to say congrats on your 3-D. My chapter just had 3-D for our seniors and i was so sad because my big is a senior. I definately shed a tear cause my big and most of the girls i am close to are seniors and now alums. This was one of the first times i was emotional in front of my sisters and for the first time i didn't care that others saw me cry.

I just did my 3D last night and it was very very bittersweet. I was very torn up at the end b/c I didn't want to blow out my candle, but I guess everything in life eventually must come to an end.
And we had an awesome reception where we did will downs and roast & toast last night. We got photo albums with wooden lion cut outs on them, three stars, and then a pink plaque with our name. Inside were different random pictures with us in them that the whole house had turned in. We also got mix CD's with tons of special songs in our chapter, a really huge yummy cake, dinner at the resteraunt where we held the reception, and lots of little gifts. It was so funny because they had all these long tables set up at the front of the room with all the seniors, kind of like a bridal party. We each had place cards with our names and all our gifts at our seats, it felt like my birthday!
I cried a lot last night, but I think I am going to be ok...and I guess being an alum can be fun too. I just don't like feeling so OLD!

congrats! wow, you're 3d sounds awesome! it sounds like a lot of work was put into it to make it special for you.
ours was very simple, but it was still nice. we just stand up and share memories and give a sappy, yet encouraging speech. my speech was horrible though. i couldnt think of a thing to say when i was up there. kind of wish i could do it over, cuz now i have a million things to say.

the good news is that it really isn't ending. of course, the things that go along with college are ending, but phi mu is just beginning.

I had my 3d about 3 weeks ago... and my candlelight the same night!
FAB Spicy Spice, my best friend and I just looked at each other with tears in our eyes, still holding the lit candles because we didn't feel ready for things to really end, for several moments even after the other girls had already blown theirs out. Bittersweet is a good word to describe it.
It is amazing that my collegiate days are already behind me. I must say that even though it's sad to leave, I am excited about finally being an alum. My fiance and I are military, and wherever we will go, it is good to know that I won't have to look too far to find loving friendships within the bonds of Phi Mu... there are alum chapters everywhere!
Love In Our Bond,
Brianna
