Contender: worth a look

The new show 'Contender' from the creators of Survivor and Apprentice debuted Monday, and it's pretty interesting.

They have made boxing very exciting (each show ends with a 5-round bout), and the prelims are interesting too.

Next show is on Thurs. after Apprentice.

Joey Gilbert, an SAE from Reno, won his fight 4/17 in quite an upset.

I'm so glad to see a thread about this show! It is really amazing! My husband loves boxing, so we always watch it. I'm not a huge fan of boxing, but I'd rather watch it than some other sports!

Anyways, the fight last night was great. My husband had seen Jimmy Lange box before, so he thought he'd definitely win. I liked Joey, and I was pulling for him. I really felt for him with the hamstring injury...my husband tore his during his senior year of high school. I'm excited to see how this will turn out. I didn't get to see Ishe's fight, but I really think he'll get into the final two. Not sure who the other one will be though!

I kept seeing the SAE shirt, but kept forgetting to ask on here if hewas one. Thanks for clearing that up for me!

i believe joey fights again this sunday. the sneak peak said something about this being the most important fight of his life and then the camera was pointed towards joey's dad. so, i think they were talking about joey.
