DSW Shoe Warehouse

Aaargh! I need to buy a pair of "white, strappy sandals" to wear when I'm in my sister's wedding this summer and I have been unable to find a pair within 20 miles of my home that is not ugly at best or unimaginably hideous at worst.

I'm thinking of trying DSW Shoe Warehouse, but since it's a good haul to get there I thought I'd run it by the GreekChatters first. Is it worth going there? How are the prices?

It's not bad. I find it to be a more upscale Shoe Carnival without the tackiness.

The prices aren't bad. You can find bargains. Just don't expect to get any FABULOUS bargains.

I just took my sister shopping for prom shoes at DSW and they had about 76427836570816 pairs of white strappy sandals. Go forth and prosper.

You CAN find FABULOUS bargains there. Always start in the back- clearance section. Up to 80% off their prices... i've gotten several pairs of $120 shoes for like $20 bucks.

They have a ton of strappy shoes. It would be well worth the trip, I guarantee you'll leave with more than just those shoes They also have a decent selection of tennis shoes, a great mens shoe section and probably kids too.

As amycat put it, DSW is mecca for shoe freaks

The DSW in Columbus, OH, was AMAZING. Basically, anything you want you can find there. The prices are cheaper than the mall, but not that much. Do run by the clearance, they have some good finds in there.

I like DSW, but I too would say if they're not clearance they're not SUPER good deals. They do have a GREAT selection however, and it's not like the prices are horribly expensive, I just wouldn't say they're SUPER SUPER deals, just good deals.

I just bought a pair of white strappy sandals at Maurices. I don't know if you have those, but they were really cute. Also, Wal-Mart actually has some cute ones too.

I love DSW!! My only complaint is that they don't always have a big stock of wide width shoes for my short fat feet!

Mr. AXiD670 HATES IT when I mention going to DSW. It takes me at least an hour to go through the whole place, and he gets bored quickly.

I agree -- the prices are better than the mall, but they're not super.

DSW had their computers hacked into and a whole bunch of people's credit card numbers were stolen. Hopefully they've upgraded their security, but use cash there anyway, just in case!

one of many links about it

Without question start in the back, in the clearance section--- there are some great deals hidden back there!

Yeah the one in Fairlane was one of the stores that got hacked and, well, yeah I used my debit card there. Haven't had any problems yet knock on wood. I definitely freaked out when I saw it on the news.

But otherwise DSW is AWESOME!
