Red face Nissan Complaint

Any ideas???

I have a 2002 Altima which I love except for the fact that in January, the fan control switch had a small part broken. In January, I was freezing so the mechanic fixed it so I could get heat.

Now the outside temp ranges from 70-85 so I'm burning up even when the fan switch is supposedly off.

The poor mechanic has been trying since January to get 1 stupid part but when Nissan does send something, they send the entire $800 assembly.

I told the mechanic that the next time they send the entire assembly, give me a hammer and I'll get the part for him!

Any ideas on who to complain to???

Are you working with an outside mechanic or the nissan dealer??

I would probably call your dealer's service center and see if you can get the individual part. Most car dealer service centers will sell you the parts since some people work on the cars themselves or to outside mechanics.

I would just do your best to explain the problem and the part you need, hopefully they will help you out. Your mechanic may not be explaining his need to the right people.

Best of luck, I've got a 2002 xterra and LOVE IT!

apparently youre not the first to have a problem with a Nissan. Your story reminded me of this http://www.snopes.com/business/consumer/nissan.asp

Will ask where he's getting the part from and show him this letter, lol.
