Southern University To Be Home Of New Reality Series
Southern University is famous for many things and it's about to gain
even more national attention. The historical black university has been
selected as the site for a new reality television show.
Out of more than 500 applicants, only 50 students were selected to try
out for the show. The show's creator is Tracey Edmonds, who produced the
hit movie "Soul Food". Edmonds says she was happy when Southern agreed
to participate.
"The diversity of the students here and the beautiful campus, the
amenities and the activities make it a perfect college to profile," said
Edmonds.
Once they're chosen, the cameras will follow students for three weeks
and look at everything from their academic lives to their social lives.
Edmonds says they have not come up with a name for the show but it will
air on Black Entertainment Television (BET).
Seven or eight students will be selected by Tuesday. Tracey Edmonds is
the wife of Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds who produces several top musical
performers.
