Tivo Question

We just got Tivo and I can't find anything about this in the instruction book....

Can you watch a program from the beginning while you're recording it? For example, if I was taping a show that started at 8pm and ended at 9pm could I start watching the show from the beginning at, say 8:20? Or do I have to wait until it is done recording?

You can definitely watch the show from the beginning. I don't have Tivo, I have the kind that comes from Comcast and that is what I always do. But I know it's possible with Tivo because that's what my parents have. I haven't watched a commercial in a long time!

Yes you can. You should see the "timeline" thingie at the bottom of the screen and you can rewind to go back to the beginning. Or, you can go to the "what's playing" (I think that is what it is called) area and click on that show. I actually make it a habit of missing at least the first 10 - 15 minutes of shows that I record so that I can fast forward through the commercials!
