Interview the Next Person
Borrowing this idea from our Panhellenic neighbors, the Alpha Phis!
Okay, how this works is a lot like some of the other threads we have, only with a bit more flexibility. I'll ask a question, then the next person answers and posts a question of her own, and so on.
Let's start with: What's in your favorite salad?

25 - not that I've gotten there (yet), but I like how I feel about myself right now and enjoy being young enough to relate to those a little younger than me, but still somewhat relate to those who are a little more mature than I am
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I will be 32 years old and see myself married, with children, working on my first or second serogate child. I am my friend's serogate because she cannot have children which is a long sad story for another day.
If you had to do one thing for the rest of your life what would you do?

If I could do one thing forever anything, Id be a pr person for Nascar or a pr person for a Nascar driver. If its something realistic, Id be at the job I am at now, transferred to someplace work managing a nice office with hours 8-4.
If you could go anywhere youve never been in the US, not including Hawaii and Alaska, where would you go and why?

I'd go to either Maine (beautiful coastline, plus only state in the East I've never been to) or Colorado. I've never been to Colorado, and I keep hearing how beautiful it is.
Do you feel that you work better by yourself, with your own hours/schedule, or do you work better in a structured enviroment?

I def work better in a structured environment. Self paced is not the way for me! Too many distractions!
Is your glass half empty or half full?

Half Full
What do you do to relax from a long, stressful day at work?

Let's see.... On my long days of class (M.W. F.... start @ 9:00 and don't finish until 8:00) the first thing I do is take off my shoes, turn on the AC, plug my iPod into its speakers and then just sing and dance around for about an hour. It's so relaxing and helps to restore my energy that I need to get through hours and hours of homework and extra curriculars (maybe I should spend more time on my spelling, I have no idea if that's right)
Over the summer I would babysit from 9 am to 4 pm and then have to get ready to go to my "real" job @ 5. I worked as a marketing assistant for a credit card company at a minor league baseball stadium... it was tons of fun, but I wouldn't get home until 11 and the first thing I'd always do is change and dive right into my swimming pool
-------
Let's see.... ah!
A famous movie producer and director come up to you and want to use aspects of your life for a plot in a movie....
1) what's the title?
2) who will play the lead characters?
3) what genre of movie would it be?

SPIDERS!!!!!!
I know that is a little generic, but I am petrified of Spiders. (all bugs really. but. I can kill an ant and) Spiders don't seem to be from this earth. They seem to come after me and I hate their webs too. They are totally evil in my book. (I know they kill other bugs but ewwww I hate them) Thank God for my husband cause he understands my phobia and he respects it and doesnt play the "there is a spider on you" game.
Ok have I fully explained my fear yet . . . .
What "totally selfish thing" would you do with 1 million dollars? (let me preface that question with . . . you have $1million after taxes and tithing)

The wife of a Colonel in the Air Force, living wherever he is stationed at the moment, Mom of a 9 year old and 5 year old, with a Masters of Nusing in Maternal Child Health, with a certificate as a clinical nurse specialist and an IBCLC, taking clients whenever I feel like it for my own business of Lactation consulting, active participant in the local ADPi alum association, and advisor to the local collegiate chapter or an international officer in our esteemed sorority.
Whew! That's a lot! It probably will not all happen... but I can dream!
If you had a chance to go on a "tourism shuttle" to space, would you take it and how much would you be willing to pay?

(passing on the question, but asking adpi*nurse: Is Lactation consulting what I think it is?)

In repsonse to Honey-
Probably. Right now I'm a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor in addition to my labor and delivery nurse duties. A lactation consultant is the ultimate guru of breastfeeding and usually works in a position devoted only to helping mamas and babies breastfeed- either in association with a hospital or in their own business.

Hmm, I think it would depend on what was on the shuttle. If the shuttle was like a five star hotel taking me out into space, I would definately consider it. If it was a shuttle where I would have to change almost every aspect of my daily life (what I eat, what I do, what I wear, etc...), then no.
So for the sake of arguement I'm going to assume that this shuttle would be like "star trek", nice with some gravity. LOL.
I'm kind of torn. I think it would be awesome to go to space but being a teacher, they should pay me .
In all honestly, there are tons of cities, states and countries that I would like to visit on the planet. I'd much rather spend the money seeing these places then going out to space (not that it would be amazing) and saying "oh look there's a comet" when I could go to Hawaii and say "I'm standing right above the USS Arizona", which for me would mean more because I'm an Arizona native and a WW2 buff.
If you could change five things in your past what would they be and why would you do it? And if you feel like answering, how do you think your life would be different now?
