Boys and Girls Club to bond with fraternity

The fraternity invited the Columbia after-school program to participate in an event filled with games, activities and food, Sigma Pi member Travis Rice said.
Rice is organizing the events and said children from the Boys and Girls Club would be divided into three stations throughout the night: kickball, dodgeball and tie-dying, he said.
Both kickball and dodgeball will take place on Stankowski Field, and the tie-dying will be held in the living room at the Sigma Pi house.
Before the activities begin, the children will be treated to a dinner of chicken nuggets and smiley-face fries prepared at the Sigma Pi house, Rice said.
Roughly 20 children from the Boys and Girls Club are expected to attend.
This event will be the first Sigma Pi has had with the Boys and Girls Club, but Rice said members hope it won’t be the last.
Rice said Sigma Pi members think local service projects help them become more involved with the community and become role models to some of the children.
