Crazy Woman Next Door

As I was in the john, the window was open over the shower, and I heard a strong cry from a cat, I automatically knew it was my cat! I looked everywhere, searching for her.. backyard, sideyards and could not find her.

I heard the cry over the block wall and she was on the other side of it. I was like, "Why isn't she climbing over?" Well, sure the fuck enough, she was in a cage!!! A fucking cage! She lured it into the cage with food.

Told my dad and he jumped over and ripped the cage open, getting my cat.

What the hell is her problem?

Jeff

*EDITED TO ADD PICTURE OF THE CAGE OF DEATH

me being a paralegal, you can consult an attorney about a lawsuit or possible criminal charges against this woman....

Some people actually capture other peoples' pets and then return them when they're "lost", either a) for a reward or b) for attention. I think the latter is kind of like a Munchausen's by proxy thing.

As a "survivor" of crazy neighbors - DOCUMENT everything. Take pictures. Call the police, even if it seems a trivial matter - should it escalate, you'll have a huge paper trail to condemn her if you have to file harassment charges or something similar.

Don't provoke, just document. Give the neighbor just enough rope to hang themselves.

Around here, in areas where it's a problem, people will trap stray cats and take them to a vet or shelter to be spayed or neutered, and then release them back into the feral colony - all in an effort to keep the population in check. They're not trying to catch pets, although occasionally one might wander in. Maybe that's what she's doing. Why not just ask her?

ZAX,
Jono
