Applying for a government job

I'm applying for a government job (a civilian job through the Dept. of the Army). For those of you with experience applying for government jobs, is it better to email your application and resume, or to mail in a hard copy? Does one receive greater consideration than the other? I've never done this before, (although my husband has,) so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Amanda Dyer

I would email it if those are your two options. There is usually some instruction about what their preference is. If there is a fax number I would fax it personally. Unless you know someone at the particular installation be prepared to wait awhile for a response.

I'll buy that to some extent. My first job I got because I knew someone, but not my second.
