KAT Former First Lady at SC Tribute
A moving tribute to the former first lady of the Univ. of Southern California was printed in the USC Trojan Family Magazine. She was a KAT at Lawrence University. Here are some highlights.....
Marilyn Edwards Zumberge, the wife of former USC President J. Zumberge, died at her home in Pasadena. "Marilyn's selfless dedication to the vitality of the entire university was valued and admired by all who knew her, and she will be remembered as one of the great first ladies of USC."
Her husband, James, was the ninth president of the university. Science Hall was rededicated as Zumberge Hall in honor of James and Marilyn. Today Marilyn's portrait hangs in the gallery of USC's Bovard Administration Building.
Mrs. Zumberge was a member of the USC/Norris Cancer Hospital Auxiliary, where there is a wing named after her husband. She was also a member of USC Associates, Friends of the USC Libraries and USC Faculty Women.
In 1985 the James and Marilyn Zumberge Scholarship Fund was created.
