Convention 2005!!!
So ladies... which GCers will be attending Convention in Tampa this summer?
In all likelihood I will be going. The only way I wouldn't would be if I got into Middlebury's intensive summer language program in which you cannot leave and cannot speak any language other than the one you are studying for the summer--not even to call home!
I know that registration materials will be online on Tuesday! So anyway, we need to have a big GC group go and all get pictures together!

I will be there! This will be my 11th Convention and I'm sure it will be very exciting. For those who've never been, you're in for a treat. Unlike some groups, Pi Phi conventions are only Pi Phis... you come away with a renewed pride in the Fraternity!

Anybody want to co-write another song for Convention with me? I'm gonna start 2 new ones soon!
I remember that the year after I pledged, our president came in from Convention and said that the main thing that she'd learned there was that if you were from the South, you were a Pah Phah and if you were from the North, you were a Poy Phoy.

I'm thinking about it, but it's awfully expensive for a recent college graduate. But... If not now, when?!

I'm Going! and I'm sooo exciting. Mom mom is paying for this trip as my grad gift (4 weeks of school left...) and I can hardly wait to be back in florida! My oldest friend lives in st. petersburg, and I think that i'll either come early or stay later and spend some time with her. It's going to be weird, though, my first event as an alum
ppl,

Convention is coming and I hope to meet some of you in person!!
In addition to the General Sessions that will introduce the new officer structure, there are some fun things planned. For those of us that have been to past conventions, some old traditions have been retired (specifically, the province cookie shine... since the province structure is being changed to regions) If you're new to convention, you'll share in special traditions that won't change (the Banner Parade at Dinner by Chapter still gives me thrills) One of the fun things that will happen this year for the first time is a Philanthropy Day-- it will start with a Walk for Literacy... yes, we're getting outside and having fun in the sun... each walker is being asked to donate a children's book that will be donated to a Tampa area school or literacy agency.
Look for information soon that will detail arrival information, suggestions for what to wear or NOT wear (remember that white dresses are required for Sunday morning's memorial service and model initiation).
If anyone has questions, I'm happy to explain what to expect.

I really wanted to go, but can't because of work
I'll really miss seeing NC Delta get their charter! If you've never been to convention go! It's a fantastic experience. Take lots of pictures for the rest of us

I'll take pictures both of the charter presentation (officers sit in front for General Sessions, so I'll be able to get a good picture) and the banner and post it for you. Ever since I got a digital camera, I'm a picture-taking maniac... last convention, I took over 100 shots (filled up a 256 card). I have brand-new card all ready to fill!

I'm already back. I'm a Florida E and I went on Saturday and Sunday. My favorite part was initiation. It was so amazing to experience such a beautiful thing with over 800 sisters. I also loved meeting the alumni and seeing how Pi Beta Phi is still such a part of their lives.

I'm glad you had a good time. I would have love to have gone. I know there were a few Ontario Gamma members that went.
