Creighton University Extension
Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity has been invited to extend onto the campus of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. The office of the Vice President for Student Services approved the recommendation of the campus Panhellenic Council and extension committee on December 8, 2004.
Colonization recruitment will take place January 31 – February 5, 2005, with installation of Eta Iota chapter planned for April 2, 2005.
Kappa joins Delta Zeta, Gamma Phi Beta, Pi Beta Phi and Theta Phi Alpha at this outstanding Jesuit university for 3,800 undergraduates.
The Omaha Alumnae Association and Sigma Chapter at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, will support the chapter locally.
Official greetings and gifts may be sent to the chapter through province and regional officers in Zeta Province. Additional colonization and installation information will be forthcoming.

What a wonderful way to start the new year off!!! Thanks for passing along the good news. My issue of The Key arrived today, but I didn't see anything about a new chapter. I really haven't read it thoroughly though, so maybe it's in there.

MSKKG,
I doubt this story would have made it into the current edition of The Key by press-time, as the VP for Student Services didn't approve our extension until December 8th...just a week or so ago!

Guess not then. That just means there will be a big article about the colonization in the next issue!
Did y'all realize that if anyone gets a chapter guard for her badge, it will be HI? That will be a real conversation starter!!!

YAY for Kappa!
How exciting that we will have a new chapter! But I really enjoy the fact that we are so careful when it comes to chapter colonization... that's why we have so few dormant!
MSKKG -- Our chapter's guard says "HA"...

Just if you were wondering about chapter founding dates of the other groups...
Theta Phi Alpha (1952)
Delta Zeta (1962)
Gamma Phi Beta (1986)
Pi Beta Phi (1994)

That's very exciting!
My campus' chapter is rather new... we colonized back in 1998.

Elise the LC was there right before she came to Furman and they participated in Round 1 of Formal Recruitment I believe. At the end of January and around now, there will be some more Recruitment events, interviews, and bids given out. She said there are some fabulous interested women... so it's looking good! I am not sure of the exact dates or when bids are actually being given out, but if I hear anything, I will let the Kappa GC community know!
I just looked above in this thread and it says this whole week, so hopefully by the weekend, we will know something!

Just heard at Province meeting that they got a nice big new member class! Can't remember how many, but everyone was pleased.
