It isn't for everyone
I just want to say that being Greek isn't for everyone. I have close friends that would be miserable if they were Greek, and in the same turn I would be miserable if I wasn't.
I just think that this is important to realize, because I see so many posts where people write about how they hated their org. or didn't agree with it. Well, then they can leave, disaffiliate, depledge, quite their line, etc... The point I'm making is that one has plenty of time to leave before they are fully initiated. So, when one is pledging an org. they need to be thinking for themselves about what is best for them and if they would be happy in that org. forever, because being greek is forever.
My point is that being Greek isn't for everyoone. So, if you pledge or activate and then decide it isn't for you the reality of the situation is that it probably wasn't ever for you. Maybe you joined because you feel in love with the idea of letters, maybe because it seemed like the only thing to do, maybe because everyone else was doing it. I joined because I was destined to be a TriDelta. I love my house, no matter what, no matter good or bad times, that is my oath and that is my heart.
So, for those who are intent upon bashing the idea of Greek life give it up, maybe it wasn't for you. Or maybe you had a bad experience, but whatever the reason you hate it or dislike it. I love my house and Greek life more than you can ever articulate your disdain for it.
Much Love,
