BROOKFIELD, Wis. -- A shooting at a church function at the Sheraton Hotel in Brookfield on Saturday left five people, including the gunman, dead.
Several people have also been taken to area hospitals, authorities said.
The gunman apparently shot and killed himself, said Brookfield Police Department spokesman Daniel Tushaus.
"There is nobody else being sought at this time as a suspect," Tushaus said.
Seven to eight people, ages from early teens to the 60s, were taken to the hospital and listed in serious condition, Tushaus said.
The shooting was reported to police at 12:51 p.m. It occurred during a regularly scheduled church service at the hotel.
