Don't know why, but KAPsi apologizes

Nichols State Fraternity apologizes for previous indiscretion
Published: Thursday, March 10, 2005

Dear Editor:
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. is firm in its beliefs.
As a member of this noble klan, I feel that it is up to its members to have great value and great pride in a fraternity. On a certain day of last semester, during a homecoming event called The Patio Show, this value and pride was not shown. This is why we, Kappa Alpha Psi, did not perform during the past event, the NAACP Black History Month Step Show, here on campus.
Kappa Alpha Psi and its members at Nicholls State were not proud of its actions. For this we would like to clean the slat and say that we sincerely apologize for those actions.
The members of Kappa Alpha Psi are, we live by and we embody:
* the disposition to live in close companionship with men of similar values
* the wisdom to abide by the will of the majority without sacrificing individuality
* the discretion to refrain from destructive criticism while seeking to remove the causes of such criticism.
* the acceptance of responsibility for any effort that moves the group forward.
* the desire to strive for, and ultimately achieve, excellence in everything you do.
* the commitment to train for leadership.
* the resolution to give lifelong financial support and commitment to the maintenance and development of the fraternity's programs and purposes
Thank all of you and have a blessed day.
Members of Kappa Alpha Psi

From Dictionary.com:

clan n.

1. A traditional social unit in the Scottish Highlands, consisting of a number of families claiming a common ancestor and following the same hereditary chieftain.

2. A division of a tribe tracing descent from a common ancestor.

3. A large group of relatives, friends, or associates

Why the shock and eye-rolling?

They used the letter "k" instead of "c". To most people, it has a different meaning

Lightbulb

Oh, ok. Members of Kappa Alpha Psi often use the letter "K" interchangeably with the letter "C".

I know about the Kappas replacing C's with K's. Still shocked that they didn't make "clan" an exception. Weird.

did the "previous indiscretion" make much news there?
Regardless of the clan/klan issue, it is a well written apology outlining their ideals.
