Bro. Ray Perry
I had the honor of serving with Bro. Perry in my chapter. He was a well respected Brother that lived a life of service. Omega service was held this past Saturday. Although the occasision was one of sadness, I have never been so proud to by an Alpha than at that moment. Brothers throughout North Carolina and other states journeyed for the Omega service. 300 Brothers ranging in ages participated in the service. The site of this number of Brothers in Black and Old Gold caused traffic to stop, mourners were in dismay and each Brother felt the Light of Alpha.
Bro. Everett Ward in essence said there was a knock at the door and Brothers we all know that knock. Once the door opened sat Bro. Gus Witherspoon, Bro. Martin Luther King, Jr., Bro. Thurgood Marshall, etc. . . . and entering the room was Brother Ray Perry. Welcomed by the Jewels, Bro. Perry was offered to seat at the table that existed since 1906. He ended by saying Bro. Perry has taken his rest.
