Speechless - Bro. Senuret
It's a damn shame....
You know what, I post this at the risk of sounding unbrotherly, but fuck it.
I am really tired of private messages with intolerant, hateful messages that question why I became an Alpha. I am sick of grown ass men -- who are supposed to be showing me guidance and wisdom -- telling me that Alpha doesn't want me, that I never should have been initiated, that we need to get rid of all gays in Alpha, that I give Alpha a bad name.
I am sick of the bitch ass moderator in my forum saying things like:
quote:don't get me wrong, i'm not saying i would have supported his membership if i knew he was gay - i'm only saying he is in and there is nothing that i can do about it.
I LOVE Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Don't get me wrong. But when we sing "Manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind....where were these people?
Yes I am a gay black man and I am an Alpha -- so the fuck what? Am I THE FIRST DAMN ONE????? From 1906 to 2003, I was the first queer Alpha to ever walk the earth?
I have been shown more brotherhood from Pikes, AEPis, LXAs, SigEps, hell....I've been shown more SINCERE Brotherhood by most of the men on this board. But when it comes to my own frat, it comes down to throwing your hands up and not being able to do anything about me AT BEST, and at worst, letting other brothers be UNBROTHERLY in our own forum??? WE LET PHASHRINER SPEAK BUT WE CLOSE A FUCKING THREAD ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY????
That is complete and utter bullshit, and I am fucking sick of it.
THANK GOD that in the REAL world all the REAL Alphas I know truly have my back and accept me for who I am. But to date, I am disgusted by the lack of brotherhood that's been shown to me by my own frat brothers on this board.
THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me on this board....i'm not talking about book sales, either. I am talking about that sincere ride or die brotherhood and friendship.
This may be "messy"....this may be "unbrotherly".....but at this point, I don't care. I really don't. I will NEVER go back into the Alpha thread and I will delete any PMs I recieve from Alphas on this site. That is the god's honest truth and I MEAN IT.

"Lest We foget, Hold High the Light"
Good Day Brothers,
I appreciate the pm. The issue of gays in the frat continue to arise. In addition, the issue is of relevance because we have an openly gay frat brother on GC.
I think all will agree that I have tried to garner support for Bro. Senuret regardless of his personal choices. However, his public remark on the "other" board is a disrespect to me and the brotherhood. I am deeply saddened that he would publicly post as he did.
I certainly could have chosen to publicly bash his gayness and his recent post. However, I think it is noteworthy that Brothers read his remarks. Upon doing so, it will be clear that all Brothers are not made the same and all Brothers do not respect Alpha and the true fraternal spirit that abides. To that end, Brother Senuret has stated that he will no longer post on this avenue. I wish him the best that life affords - love, peace and happiness.
Lest we forget, Hold High the Light!

Re: "Lest We foget, Hold High the Light"
If you do not care for someone because of his race, religion, sexuality, whatever, why disrespect them? Don't talk to them. But do not disrespect them. You "certainly could have chosen to publicly bash his gayness and his recent post"?? Well bashing someone is not respect and creating this thread is bashing his recent post.
If someone violates a rule on Greekchat, then the moderator is supposed to step in and do something about it. Harassing someone and bashing them and insulting them does not fit within those rules. Those rules are created by the administrator, John Hammel, and those rules you have created for the "House of Alpha" do not apply (perhaps if you created your own website).
You should have stepped in to prevent those postings by members of even your fraternity since they violated Greekchat.com rules. But instead of following Greekchat rules, you decided to follow your own set of rules (House of Alpha) and that allowed you to keep those posts up.
You are all grown men. Behave like it.

Where were YOU when senusret I began disrespecting our fraternity? Why didn't you have anything to say to him?
I think our moderator is extremely tolerant, and did all he could to bring some sense into this discussion. If the gay dude is extra-sensitive, it is his problem; not ours. He knew exactly what he was doing when he posted his personal stuff on this and other forums. It is his right to do so; but there is a price he has to pay to the membership for disgracing us.

YOU seem to have difficulty being an ADULT.
Let me reaquaint you with the rules of Greekchat.com:
By clicking the Agree button, you warrant that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you.
If you want to create your own website to follow the rules of the "House of Alpha", I am sure you can.
Senusret is wrong for violating any rules too. But don't think that YOU all of a sudden are innocent and haven't done anything.
Aside from rules, I personally would not have said anything nasty to my brother like you did. I also personally would not have done what Senusret I did.
Be a man. Don't just be bitter about what I said but think about it. Am I really wrong?

That was cute. Adult, be a man; all of dat.
Rudey,
Your point is well taken. I must respect the board. Everyone's entitled to an opinion; and they must express it within the rules of the forum.
Adults get justifiably angry; and I'm ready for ANY challenge you may have for MY manhood, aight.

Harassing someone because of his sexuality to me sounds like violating a rule, no?
I hate to break it to you, but there are lots of gays in every fraternity. There are lots of everything. You have PHAShriner basically spouting off hate speach and the moderator did nothing. Whomever was harassing Senusret about him being gay should have just been told to shutup.
I don't care who your fraternity takes in or lets in. That's your choice. But you should respect your brothers - including the gay ones (and probably more than you respect PHAshriner).
Your fraternity's letters are in the spotlight on the internet. Do everything you can to make sure you make those letters look great. If you do not prefer to take in gays/japanese/aliens, respect those gays/japanese/aliens that are in it, those that do, and just let it go.
The Original Ape kept saying gays shouldn't be in your fraternity. Senusret explained himself. Original Ape replied "Listen at this bullshit!" which violates the rules.
You all keep posting, over and over and some are even more nasty in PMs the way Senusret I has written in that post. I don't know. But it seems to me that if the nastiness won't stop and is harassment, that is yet another rule broken.
And at the end of the day, this is all out for all to see. You can all argue about who started it, but it's there. To say you had no part in that is putting your head in the sand.

No I don't care for your manhood. Let's get that straight. I am here. You are there. I don't care one bit for you and you don't care one bit for me. But respect is respect and if your mom didn't teach you, ask one of your brothers to invite you over for dinner at his parent's place and see how they act.
And how would I challenge someone's manhood? Are you going to enter into the manhood olympics? There are too many black guys out there constantly trying to "justify their manhoods".
