Not cool.
http://70.84.34.106/~unique/UP-egging.wmv
This is a movie of a bunch of guys throwing eggs at rowers. As a rower, this pisses me off greatly. What pisses me off more is the little tidbit of information I found out from a member of this club...
" The egging victims are masters from Fairmount Rowing Association in Philadelphia. Ther perpetrators are the current pledge class of the fraternity Pi Kappa Phi at the University of Pennsylvania. We learned the identity of the perps when one of the bright stars went back to his high school and bragged about it. (Hey, they're bright at an Ivy League University!) Some of the kids at the high school row, and were annoyed at his attitude. So they turned the s.o.b. in. (He had never rowed.) We are pursuing the matter.
Bill Rafter, President
Fairmount Rowing Association"
from www.Rowersworld.com
This drives me nuts. These boats cost more than a car in some cases, hell a new 8 costs 38000 or more, and that's not to mention the danger to the rowers. Let's not touch the fact that it makes their fraternity look like a bunch of idiots.
They're going to get an earful and more, rowing in Philly is NOT something you mess with. Ever.

As a former rower this really saddens me. Considering the size of Penn State's greek system I really hope this is a case of mistaken identity. Especially considering the accusations our based off of the testimony of a high schooler who might not be as educated on the greek system as a fellow greek.
/edit: Could you please provide the direct link to this story. I'm not seeing it on the main page of the link you posted.

I think this story is about U Penn in Philadelphia, not Penn State in College Park.

Yes, it is. I'm not quite sure where one could row in State College unless it was in a fountain.

Down the side of Mt. Nitany with wheels on the bottom?
But seriously, what a dumb thing for those guys to do.

actually, Penn State does have a crew team, relatively new, but whatever. THey practice at Bald Eagle and on the Susquehanna (shamokin damn) . Theyve done really well at CRASH B's and at Dad Vails.

You know I really feel like my fraternity is getting the short end of the stick on this one. A video is posted and then the source of identifcation is from a poster on another forum. Let me know when the story hits a credible news source.
