books that offer career guidance?

Hi all! I feel like I"m in a job slump right now. I need some inspiration to kick me in the pants, so to speak. Does anyone know of any helpful books about careers and succeeding?

I work at Barnes and Noble, and while I don't remember any specifically, I know we have probably a couple hundred books on the subject. Go into your local bookstore and look, they have them for all types of jobs, ones for specific cities, etc. Good luck!

Try the "What Color is Your Parachute" series - it's updated every year or so and has some great advice about changing your career in both small and huge ways, and it's good to help you figure out what you want to do.

'What Color is Your Parachute' is a classic.

I also like 'The Pathfinder - How to Choose or Change Your Career for a Lifetime of Satisfaction and Success' by Nicholas Lore

And a book that really helped me focus in on my goals and strengths (and hone interview skills) was 'Now, Discover Your Strengths' --- inside the book jacket there is a code that lets you take a StrengthsFinder assessment from the The Gallup Organization at https://www.strengthsfinder.com/
