Sigma Phi Epsilon to reach Georgetown

Quote:
Keith Tabatznik, Head Men's Soccer Coach, stated that he saw a parallel between Sig Ep and Georgetown's Jesuit values. "I see a great potential for a real positive addition to the Georgetown experience for those who become members of the Sig Ep fraternity," he said. "Its mission is true to the same goals of Georgetown and the Jesuit philosophy towards educating the mind and body."

We had a choice between some community college and Georgetown and went with Gtown. I know Erik Conard thinks that was the wrong choice, but we are willing to stick by it.

I think that was a pretty good decision of you.

I really think Greek Life could thrive at Gtown if it was campus recognized - it seems to be doing very well at GW.

Does Gtown have any secret societies, eating clubs or anything like that? I don't remember from when I applied there from undergrad... at the time that wasn't something I really paid much attention too.

Gtown's a good school, with lots of future politians, CEOs, etc. I think Greek life could really thrive there, especially for the networking benefits.

DC is a great environment for Greeks. AU has a
fairly big Greek system, although their
campus is more like a suburban campus
in the city which seems to be the case
with Georgetown. Not to be confused with a
campus like DeVry's though. Yes, Greeks
at AU range from studs to hoggers.

AU reminds me a little of one of those
sprawling midwestern campii where the coeds
were farmers daughers. It brings a whole new
meaning to hoggers. AU also has a wonderful
residential neighborhood with very cute
homes surrounding it, no doubt purchased
by some of the many Greek leaders in DC.

I know that AU, GW and Galludet all have a Greek system. I am surprised G-Town took this long to finally look at expanding it

Gtown is not expanding it - it is not recognized by the campus, the fraternity is coming on of their own volition.

Yup. They are honestly really good, smart guys too. Also, they went very quickly from a colony to an established chapter because of it.

I don't know if the SigEps will definitely end up at Georgetown, but good luck to them.

I didn't read the article properly, so when when I saw the headline, I thought G'Town was going to RECOGNIZE a fraternity. I knew about AEPi. Good luck to Sig Ep in their efforts. We have a chapter at Brandeis, where they don't recognize greek life, and it can be tough.

As for greeks, G'Town is the home of the International Foreign Service Fraternity and Sorority of Delta Phi Epsilon....NOT to be confused with the NPC International Sorority of Delta Phi Epsilon
