"PSU fraternity breaks ground on new house
Pittsburg Morning Sun, KS - Feb 5, 2005
By JOE NOGA. After nearly 10 years of planning and waiting, the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity broke ground on their new house in Pittsburg Saturday. ... "
Good news! Congratulations!
Maybe someone who occasionally posts on GreekChat -- you know who you are -- could give us a little more of the news on this?
Sorry I don't have more details, but the Pittsburg, Kansas paper's site seems to want me to do an elaborate signup.

Do fraternities usually build on the same plot if they're building a new house?
If so, where do brothers stay until the new place is up and running?

In the mid-1970s, my chapter at the University of Oklahoma lived in University-owned student apartments while the old house was demolished and the new house was being built on the same site. When the chapter closed in 1986, the house and lot was sold to the University; it's now a park across the way from the School of Music.

Oh, that's cold...
I did hear that one certain alum, smoking a cigar, used a broken beer bottle to shovel his share of the dirt.
He shall remain nameless.

D A and hoosier, Bite Me!
Rudey in answer to your question at least about the LXA Chapter I am from.
We demolished the house 1 1/2 years ago. The House Corporation owned the property, 3 lots on a corner across from the Campus.
We rented a small house for a focal point for The Chapter to have a place. With the limited space in Dorm Facilities, (The College Tore Down 2 Dorms for a Court yard and Food Service facilitie. Does F Morons sound good? Frosh cannot live out side of Dorms or approved housing. Hell, the dorms are filled so fast and is an apartment owners dream!!!!
This is the Article in The Local News Paper.
**********************************************
PSU FRATERNITY BREAKS GROUND ON NEW HOUSE
After nearly 10 years of planning and waiting, the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity broke ground on their new house in Pittsburg Saturday.
Kent Bumgarner, president of the Lambda Chi Alpha Housing Corporation, said the old house was torn down in August 2003 because it simply became too run-down to be lived in any longer.
"It was too old, too out-of-shape, too dangerous for young men to live in and it was time for a new house," Bumgarner said.

Oh, touchy, touchy! I said that person would remain nameless! But, if you want to own up to it, far be it from me to argue...
