Question Jaqueminot Rose: Finding Them

Ladies, this is Phi Psi's flower also. Many of our chapters, including my own, have difficulty getting these from florists. Does anyone have experience getting ahold of Jaqueminot Roses?

I have never been able to get Jacqueminot roses. We have always just gotten red roses. I would love to have a Jacqueminot rose bush. I saw one on the web once, but I forgot to bookmark it. Now I can't find it.
Roses,
Silver

Try these. Our rose is a "custom root". Sometimes they have them in stock and other times they need to grow it for you.

I got a Jacqueminot rose bush from Antique Rose Emporium and it was beautiful (mind you I only got to see it a year before I moved so I don't know how well it is doing!). They are on their own roots and so are usually hardier than grafted (sometimes. . . ).

Forgive my intrusion again! My niece is now working at the Antique Rose Emporium and she says they have the Jacqueminot in stock...call 'em up!

Yep, this is an old thread! With all the cold and snow, isn't it nice to think about flowers and gardening?

Maybe this year I'll get brave enough to plant a rose bush on my property. We had roses at our house in Pittsburgh, but they were a pleasant surprise (we bought and moved into the house in December, and didn't even know we had rose bushes until spring rolled around!)

I too 'inherited' 2 rose bushes when I got my house. Both had not really been taken care of so I just hacked them up hoping they would either die or start to look more like traditional rose bushes (mind you, one is a climbing rose so I'm just trying to keep it under control!). I'm still trying to figure out what kind of landscaping to do with my house now that I'm living here!

P.S. C, don't even TALK about cold!! LOL For the past week we are dealing with an average of about zero!

Man I wish it was cold here. It is 61 right now. The temp might drop so maybe we will get a snow flake or two but I doubt it. I can't wait to move up north somewhere so I can have lots of snow.

Okay, so I was wrong! We only got about 6 inches of snow last night - but its windy and its all drifing (its the nice, light powdery snow so its nicer to shovel than the heavy wet stuff!).

Anyway, I'm heading back out to continue shoveling - and muttering under my breath about employers who give attitude about everyone else being able to make it out of their driveway when you call and say you can't get out yours and won't be able to make a 2 hour morning meeting you just told me about yesterday!
