That's cool! I'm pretty sure I read (although I'm not sure where) that Pappy Boyington's was a similar situation. As I recall, he was a Lambda Chi pledge when he left school (over finances?) and then was initiated years later, after fighting World War II, spending several years in Japanese captivity.

Anybody know any more about it?

I found a few websites about Boyington:
google(boyington lambda chi)

From all indications, he was a full member as an undergrad...
also heavily involved in athletics.

Ottor, awesome memory dude! According to the History book, p.60, Boyington spent 2 years as a POW and was initiated after a delay of some 15 years (due to financial circumstances and the war) when he "returned to Alpha-Psi Zeta at the University of Washington to complete his membership rites in the Fraternity".

Pappy is one of my and Jonos idols and maybe Kevs, Short and tuff!

Two Of My Favs LXA are Harry Truman who I knew and Pappy. I screwed up and did not bid enought to get a HST and Pappy Cover together on ebay!

Still looking for one.

Still think there is a AI Iniation with LXA, We ahd 5 so far!

They came to the Fore Front to Help and be part of us younger Brothers!!!
