Interested, but dont know what to do.
I go to a school with a small black community and I am very interested in becoming a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. I have done a lot of research on the Sorority and I definately know that this is the sorority I want to be apart of. I know almost all the members of the sorority here on campus. How should I go about making this happen for me? Thank you in advance to all the responses.

Again, please only members of Delta Sigma Theta should be replying to this thread.

1. Review the National website at www.deltasigmatheta.org
2. Attend sorority events
3. Make sure your application (grades, public service, leadership) are up to par.
4. Think about who you would ask to write a letter of recommendation
5. Use spell check/dictionary

I did not mean for this post to be redundant. I read the other thread, but my question is unrelated to hers. I wanted to know about going to the next step as far as showing interest. I wanted to know how I should proceed. Sorry if my post seemed a little too much like a previous one.

Are you doing any service?
I know you said that the members on your campus know you but do they just know you as another student or do they see you as a leader, service oriented, etc.
It sounds like you are on the right track. That's really all you can do at this point. Serve and lead IN ADDITION TO THE TIPS already given to you.
When I linked the other thread to yours, it was merely to point out that while there are differences, there are still similiarities.

Yes I do a lot of service on my campus and around my campus. I am a member of NCNW and I am also apart of a mentoring group that a member of Delta Sigma Theta came up with. Because the black community at my school is so small, we do a lot in order to reverse this. I have become a leader in many of these aspects also.

So you are definitely headed in the right direction. Coming from a small school and being a student leader, from MY EXPERIENCE, was helpful. You stand out already in a positive way as did I.
Just remain focused on your schoolwork, service, and being sisterly not just to the Deltas on your campus but to all women.
