Exciting news!

I am excited about two things right now happening in Greek Life. This Sunday many girls from the Indiana Zeta chapter of Pi Phi are going to Butler University to practice recruitment with the girls in their Pi Phi chapter. I am super excited about meeting Pi Phi's from other chapters, especially since there are some on GC! I have been to Butler many times in the past 3 years visiting friends, and I am really excited to see the inside of the Pi Phi house because it is absolutely beautiful on the outside! It makes me wish Ball State had houses!

The other exciting news is that I am participating in an alcohol summit this Janurary with members of the different Greek organizations from my school. I am not too sure on the exact detals, but I know this is a special project and our school was one that was specially picked. There are about 2 to 3 members of each Panhellenic and IFC organizations on campus and a representative from another Greek organization (I cannot remember the name and I do not want to try and mess it up!). There are about 60 of us I think (including advisors and such) and we are spending the weekend focusing on alcohol and leadership and a lot of other things. Our advisor said she did not want to tell us everything because it would give too much away, but hopefully we will have accomplished a lot and grown closer to all the other Greek members outside of our chapters after the weekend is over. I am really excited about participating in this also

Whew, I think thats it... unfortunately NOW its back to writing papers and studying for finals!

its an awesome experience

working with another chapter on recruitment stuff is a lot of fun. My chapter, Virgnia Zeta, went up to Washington and Lee( Virginia Theta) and practiced with them earlier this fall. IT was really cool to see other sisters from other chapters and how they compare. They had a GORGEOUS house and all the girls were super nice. Even though it was kinda hard asking the girls questions like why do you wanna be greek and stuff since you know they already picked the best one out there.

wow I havent updated this in awhile!
It went really well actually. Their house is so beautiful, it reminded us of a plantation from Gone With the Wind! The girls were all really nice and we could tell they had been working hard for recuitment. It was hard to pretend since we were alread Pi Phis and a lot of the time we just spent talking about our chapters and getting to know each other!! I think it was good though because some of the girls had never gone through a formal recruitment (they just didn informal) so it was good that they got the chance to just talk to people. All of the girls were nice and there were some I talked to that I thought would make excellent rushers and their ideas for the parties are really cute!!!1 (Im obviously not going to give it away seeing as there are many lurkers on the boards though...but trust me it sounded so catchy!!)

They start recruitment next week though and I am excited to see how they do!!!!

For fun I thought I would repost the picture of the house she's talking of. I always thought it looked like a plantation house! But, it's so pretty on the inside and out. I plan on heading back for the end of 4-party and Pref, so I'll update with any news I get.

Joint recruitment workshops are SO SO SO FUN! My chapter did one with Virginia Zeta (Virginia Tech) this year... It was a lot of work to put together but it was totally fun and awesome. I'm glad the Indiana chapters had a good experience as well!

It was a lot of fun to get to know our sisters, especially since we are only 45 minutes apart!
Erin- Have you heard anything about recruitment yet? I can't imagine it was too fun for them being the rain the other day!! I heard the weather is supposed to pretty bad for the weekend... hopefully it will hold off until AFTER parties!!

The first round (of 3) of parties start today. 8 Party day basically goes from 9-6. Tomorrow is 4 Party day (skits), which goes from 11-7 or so. Then Pref is on Saturday with the parties being at night. Thankfully our sororities are placed close together, and typically there are only 10 minutes between rounds. So, the PNMs won't be outside for long. It's pouring here in Bloomington, which is an hour from Indy.

I've heard that things are going well. I'm going up there to help out for 4 Party and Pref days (and to visit Jharb ), so I'll update when I can.

I heard from one of my sisters this morning, and she says yesterday went really well. A lot of great girls are going through. I'll give more specific details tomorrow night or Sunday when numbers start coming in.

Oh, and of course the temperature had dropped significantly, so no more rain! Hopefully it won't snow.

Recruitment went really well for the girls. Return rates were up a lot higher this year. I was there to help out for the last two days, and it was incredible for me to hang out with my sisters once again.

This morning Indiana Gamma welcomed 20 new angels (one legacy from what I hear). I'm sure when jharb will add more when she gets back from Bid Day stuff.
