spring recruitment

Anybody have any ideas for a small technical school thats not having much luck with spring recruitment? There aren't many girls at my school to start with, and spring recruitment is like pulling teeth from a rabid alligator! It feels like the only girls we have left to rely on are girls who held out from fall, or transfer students (which is next to none). We've had 4 recruitment events so far, 3 of which NOBODY showed up to. We've PRed like crazy, and I'm sure the other girls are getting just as discouraged as I am. CORs, CAN work for us, but you all know that headquarters has a hissy fit if you dont expand your numbers right away <sigh> We've got 5 girls we're working on right now, all that look like good prospective candidates, but 2 of them are still uneasy about it, and 2 we still arent sure about and 1 seems liek a sure catch if we can just manage to talk to her some more (she's been home sick the past few days). Does anybody have any exciting off the wall ideas that might work? I think we're going to hang out with Sigma Pi as they do their recruitment the next couple of weeks as well.

Don't get discouraged!!

Hey Girl, Don't get discouraged...just keep plugging away at the PNM's and they will soon see how the chapter can better their collegiate life. Perhaps instead of trying to sell Alpha Xi Delta, just sell your friendship to the PNM's. It will be natural for the PNM to join if all her friends are members.

Also, FHQ staff doesn't have "hissy fits," they have all been in chapters that had their own struggles, membership or other. Just ask for their help using the Membership Team and they will assist your chapter with encouragment and any resources available. Your MVP should have her Membership Team contact.

In Xi Always!!!

CORs

Hey Girls,
Don't get discourged. We have gone throught the same thing in my chapter. AXiD had a lot to offer girls. Be friendly, almost like a family for the girl that you are trying to get. Invite them to event that you guys go to, or even just invite to go have lunch or dinner with a bunch of the girls.

Some other ideas are movie night, ladies night, go to the local ice cream place, just fun things where the girls with feel comfortable. Having the girls at the house sometimes might make them feel a little unconfortable.

Good Luck TFJ

I'd like to echo the "don't get discouraged" sentiment. Just remember that in the girls' eyes, you represent Alpha Xi 24-7, so always, always be the sister you would want to have. Potential recruits will see this and want to have that sisterhood!

Here is another thread that discusses this topic. Hopefully it will help!

ETA: Almost forgot - GOOD LUCK!
