question about oil changes?

OK.. here's the thing.. I just took my car to get the oil changed .... and to be pretty honest I'm not sure if they changed the oil. My boyfriend used to always tell me to check the oil.. so I popped up the hood, checked the oil dipstick thingie and it was kinda yellow/orange.

Is it supposed to be that color?

i recommend learning to change your own. my brother showed me how, and i have saved so much money. i can do it by myself for about $15, as apposed to the $30 or up that most places charge here. i change mine like every month, and i'm still over the recommended miles, so its well worth it for me.

Mr. SSS and I would love to change our own, but we're concerned about how to dispose of the old oil. Where do you take yours to dispose of it?

I know you can recycle it. I remember my dad used to fill old Milk gallon containers and then leave them on the side of the curb. I just assumed that the recycling guys picked it up.
