so that there is no more speculation
Thank you all for your comments, but let me personally respond instead of others speculating why I am not Region III Director any longer.
1) I did run for Program Director, but was not elected by the Voting Delegates of this Convention for this spot. The Nominations Committee put forth a slate of Brothers to serve in different spots, and I was not on that slate. I was nominated from the floor, but was not elected.
2) I chose not to accept a nomination from the Voting Delegates of Region III for another term as Region Director. As a leadership development organization, I felt that it was time to let another Brother gain the leadership opportunities that being Region Director offers. Being RD was one of the most special times of my life - but it goes against the ideal of developing leaders to stand in the way of others who would be qualified and capable of serving the Fraternity.
3) My personal life and personal situation play no part in these decisions, and to say otherwise is pure heresay.
4) I am not going away from the Fraternity. There are several projects that I have expressed interest in, but will find out what I will be working on later in the month.
5) To those of you who don't know who Fred Heisemeyer is: he served as Leadership Development PD several years ago, and most recently was one of the main writers/creators of our APO LEADS program. Originally pledged at Lambda Omicron/WVU, he currently lives in Arkansas.
As I said, I'm not going away. I'm not dead. I still will be a part of the Fraternity and plan on participating in many things - so I still hope to see you all around at events!!!
