Holiday Traditions

So, I've decided the reason our board isn't as alive as other sorority boards may be because we only talk about Tri Delta stuff. While its cool that we post about good ol' DDD, I thought we should branch into other areas...and 'tis the season...soooooo-

What are some of your fav memories/traditions/whatever about the holidays?

One of my favorties is going to candle light service on Christmas Eve. I've been doing readings since I was in grammer school, and have signed up to help out as usual. I hope I get to read my favorite verse, Isiah 9:6(KJV), because it reminds me so much of Handel's Messaih- "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." I always want to break into song at that point.

I also love that my family pretends we are really Polish (I'm of the Ellis Island persusaion, whose name isn't even spelt correctly, and I don't do the -ska for female vs ski for male) and we get kielbasa.

One of my new traditions is going to Hannukah at my friend Kerry's brothers house. He converted to get married, and now we bring the Kosher beer (Genises Ale and Messiah Bold flavors).
