Thumbs down Aaliyah's New CD

I managed to get a hold of Aaliyah's new cd. I must say that I am kind of disappointed in it. She's trying to take a new direction with her style, but it is NOT her best work. When I first heard it I couldn't believe that was/is the CD she is going to release. If you have heard it (you can listen to it on MTV.com and I believe BET.com also) let me know what your thoughts are.

I think I read somewhere that Timbaland didn't have as much input as he usually does and she wanted to explore new styles and sounds.
Thanks for the info babygirl, I was going CD shopping today and I think I'll wait a little while longer for Aaliyah.

I actually like the whole CD. I like it better than her previous ones. She's a bit older now and her cd reflects that. So, I'll be buying this one.

Actually it has gotten some pretty good reviews so far, I was looking forward to hearing it. I liked her last one, and her songs in Romeo Must Die were on point so I can't wait to hear it.

I love it.. the whole thing. It's not her typical style, but it's more mature and I like the fact that she's experimenting with some different sounds. My favorites are "I Care For U", "I Can Be" and "It's Whatever".

did she write any songs on it... if so, that could be the reason the style is not the same. I haven't got the cd yet but I plan to get it this week while it's still on sale.
