If my bellay was big enough, I probably would. I don't make it a point to eat greasy foods every day, but I could give two shits about dieting.
Over here we have a restaurant called the Dixie Grill, and they have a "Bust Yo Belly" Burger challenge. Basically the slab of beef is ONE POUND, with the buns and burger fixins'. If you finish the whole thing within a set period of time, you not only get your entire meal on the house, but you get prizes too.

There's a steakhouse in Amarillo called the Big Texan that serves up a 72-ounce top sirloin steak. If you can eat it all in one hour, it's free.

True. I was at a steakhouse and I once ate an 18 oz. ribeye (plus the veggies!) by myself. I'm not the tiniest person out there, but I was surprised I could fit that much cow into my system!

The 20x20 thing may have just made me never want a cheeseburger again.. and I LOVE my cheeseburgers.
There was a time I would've eaten the Hardees one (without mayo though).. maybe when I was pregnant! There three restaurants, two called Wheat & Rye and the Allen Park Bar (all the same owners) who make 1 lb. hamburgers, BLTs with 1 lb. bacon, etc. and it's always packed! There are people who eat that much, although most take half of it home.
Then there is the infamous Tony's near Birch Run/Frankenmuth in Michigan. Breakfast is a dozen eggs and a pound of bacon, etc. HUGE quantities there. I ordered their nachos once and I swear they put a whole bag of chips on the plate. There was enough food on my plate to last a week! Insanity.. but always so popular you have to wait for a seat, especially during hunting season when the big burly men are heading up north for their male bonding time.

I've seen how much this girl can eat and she's not kidding!
Embarrassing admission: one of my family's nicknames for me is "The Camel" because I eat so much food that they are convinced I must have a hump somewhere on my body to store it all. I keep telling them I just like to eat!

Mmmm . . . hamburger.
But yeah, to be honest, 1420 isn't all that much for eating out. You can get 3000 easily in one meal at an Italian restaurant and not know it. If you're not calorie-concerned, you're probably underestimating the numbers you take in when you eat out.
I think Hardee's is on the money here with the whole "We'll offer greasier stuff while everybody else offers healthier stuff" trend. The majority of Americans don't want HEALTHY food, at least not all of the time, and if they do, they don't go to fast food places to get it.
