Students needed to fill film roles

"The Gallon Challenge" film, produced and written by Wes Bennett, with the help of the Athens Film Foundation, is holding an open casting call for male and female roles, ages 18 to 25 and 40 to 55.

A crew call for key and assistant positions also is being held.

Both will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday downstairs at the Blue Sky Café in downtown Athens.

The feature film follows the story of a film student who is about to graduate until his professor gets fired for possession of illegal substances and his best friend accidentally deletes his final project.

The student, Travis Carter, must produce a new project in two weeks and is forced to make a documentary of a fraternity milk drinking contest.

"The film culminates with an actual milk drinking contest which we will be shooting at a Frat House on Milledge." Bennett said. "We would like to have a crowd of around 200 people."

Lots of extras will be needed for this scene along with many others.

Athens Film Foundation was started in 1998 by a group of local filmmakers who wanted to network and support local projects.
