Exclamation A potential Community Service idea for LXA GC'ers

Hey all...

I have an idea. Now that the holidays are (rapidly) approaching...

I used to run a Christmas card program, where we would send Christmas cards/care packages to military units deployed overseas...our first year we sent over 3,500 cards, second year over 8,000. But due to new military mail restrictions, we can't do that anymore.

Newspaper article about this project

However, I found an organization that does this for individual military members that have volunteered to accept cards/packages. And, I have adopted a soldier to send stuff to.

I'd like to see if some of you LXA's out there would like to participate. If so, please PM me (YES TOM, I cleaned out the inbox!), and I'll send you his information, as well as how to adopt your own member (this could be a potential chapter project, hint...hint).

I used to be in the Navy, and was deployed overseas for the holidays...it can be very lonely, and, even more so for today's military, lonely and scary, in a combat zone. The soldier I adopted is a very young first time enlistee...perhaps we can make a difference in his life at a critical point in time.

Thanks

UPDATE

I also have located the address of a LXA alumni from CSU - he was High Alpha when I was High Pi. Great brother...deployed to Iraq right now.

PM me for his address.
