Post Old School Part II (White Music)

O.K.,,, Don't laugh, but I went to a predominately white school where all they listened to was artists like Debbie Gibson, George Micheal, ect... I know we have had MANY Discissions on Old School, but I want to know how many people out there listened to Old School (White Music?)

I guess I will start this out by stating that I love:

Eurythmics (Sp?) Sweet Dreams, Here comes the rain again

George Micheal: Father Figure, Faith,

WHAM: Careless Whisper

Phil Collins: Against All Odds, One more Night, In the Air Tonight, Groovy Kind of Love, Easy Lover

The Carrs: Drive

Boy George: Carmacameleon (sp?)

Debbie Gigson: Out of the Blue, Lost in YOur Eyes, Only in your Dreams,

Maddona: True Blue, Like a Virgin, Material Girl, Into the Groove

Nikky French: Total Eclipse From the Heart

Blondie: Heart of Glass

Hewy Lewis and the News: Heart and Soul, If this is it, actually all of their songs

The Police: Every Breath You Take

Duran Duran: Lets Dance

Cindy Lauper: Girls Just wanna have Fun, Time after Time, True Colors, Into the Night,

and the List goes ON, and ON, and ON!!!! My fiance' thinks that I am stuck in the 80's but hey what can I say..... I love this kind of Music, even though I get STRANGE looks when I blast in on stereo. The funny thing is,, is that after people make fun of me, they start singing and dancing to the music as well!!!

That is too funny so did I. I am having a flashback. Do you remeber:

The Clash:Rock the Casbah (Charlene don't like it! {I used to love that song but it made no sense whatsoever}

Pat Benetar: Love is a battlefield

BananaRama: It's a cruel summer

Hall & Oates: Maneater or any song by them

Aha: Take on me

Stacey Q: Two of hearts

The Pet Shop Boys: West end girls

Taylor Dayne: Tell it to my heart

Expose': Let me be the one, Come go with me, Exposed to love

Yes, the list goes on and on, especially with the one hit wonders

I thought I was the ONLY Brother in America feeling VanHalen - especially on the "Hot For Teacher" tip ... and Guns & Roses "Welcome to the Jungle" was no joke!

For the REAL old heads, don't sleep on:

Aerosmith: Walk this Way (Original version!
Rolling Stones: I Miss You
Yes: Owner of a Lonely Heart
Thomas Dolby: Blinded by Science (MTV - 1980's)
Double: Captain of her heart (More MTV)
Everthing but the Girl: Drive (More MTV)

And here's one for for AceQue ...

Motley Crue(!): Dr. Feelgood

This is too funny. I love all the artists mentioned. I know I'm not the only that loves to catch an ol' school "white" song on the radio and/or video.
Ummm, EVERY black person LOVED Hall 'n Oats. Don't act like ya'll don't remember them: "I can't go for that, no, nooooo...no can do," and countless other songs that SOME black folks THINK were sung by black folks.
