State of Emergency
Sorors, Sisterfriends, and Friends,
Please keep the people in Texas in your prayers because we have been declared a disaster area due to the Tropical Storm Allison.
I have friends and sorors whose homes have been destroyed.
I am blessed to not be one of those whose home or car was damaged. I have seen with my own eyes water that is so high that all you can see are the tops of trees and street signs...just up the street from me.
So keep Houston area folks in your prayers.

Also, Louisiana too! I have been on the computer all weekend because a lot of the streets are closed due to floods. I can't go anywhere.

I live in Beaumont, which is about an hour from Houston. We've been flooded for almost a week now. When it first started, I admit I was excited about my summer school classes being canceled, but it's getting kinda serious now. I mean, people have been getting helicoptered out of their jobs, homes.. pretty much everywhere. My mom has a friend whose son got air-rescued from his job at a movie theater and taken to a shelter.. this was yesterday and she still doesn't know where he is. So yeah.. it is getting a little bit crucial.

So am I! We're getting it too!
However, it is very serious in Tx. My sister lives outside of Houston,my mother in Baton Rouge, and we have been checking up on each other since the beginning of the week CONSTANTLY.
The reports just shown on the national news really tripped me out! The 18-wheelers almost "floating" The downtown post office with many of its employees "stuck". The hospitals having to "shut down" its power because of the water that had come inside!
This is only the 9th day into Hurricane Season. If this is what we have to look forward to all the way until November, oh my goodness!
What gets me was that Allison WAS NOT a HURRICANE! ONLY a tropical DEPRESSION!
ALL WE CAN DO IS PRAY!

Everyone involved will definately be in my prayers. My parents live in South Georgia and thier home was flooded in 1994. They did not move back into their house for over a year. Some of their neighbors were out of their homes for 2 years or longer. In addition, my SIL & BIL were in New Orleans in (I think) 1995 or 6 when there was a major flood. The devistation in both cases was beyond belief.
Be careful and don't take any unnecessary risks. My parents lost everything, including some things that are not replaceable (pictures, awards, etc.), but I would much rather have them!

My prayers are definitely with the people who live in the areas listed and not listed that are affected by flooding.
Father in Jesus name I ask that you encamp your angels around those areas, place a hedge of protection around them...enlarge their borders and tents, provide a safe place for them. Father we know that is only by your power, grace, mercy, and loving kindness. We thank you for it and we receive it NOW. Amen!
God will not leave or forsake anyone. He promised not to destroy these grounds by flood again. Look to him and he will deliver you all. A rainbow is somewhere in the midst of this storm. Stay strong in the Word.
God Bless you.

Oh my goodness. I can't possibly imagine what you all must be going through. I'm from Chicago, Il and I complain about snow storms. This is definitely worse than a snow storm. My heart felt prayers go out to you all. Just remember, God wouldn't put your through anything that you can't bear. Keep the faith and remain prayerfull.

That's everybody for all your prayers. I'm in Baton Rouge and all the rain is driving me nuts. Funny thing is I'm suppose to be moving to Texas this week, but the way the weather has been, I'll be staying put in Baton Rouge till we dry out. Sending everybody in Houston love and prayers
