Bin Laden: Goal is to force U.S. into bankruptcy

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/...ape/index.html

Bin Laden's latest videotape says his goal is to force the U.S. into bankruptcy.

I guess he forgot to read the newspaper, but isn't the U.S. already in the hole by a ton of money? He must have not received that memo.

My favorite quote from the article: "He also said al Qaeda has found it "easy for us to provoke and bait this administration.""

The total U.S. national debt is more than $7 trillion. The U.S. federal deficit was $413 billion in 2004, according to the Treasury Department.

"It is true that this shows that al Qaeda has gained, but on the other hand it shows that the Bush administration has also gained, something that anyone who looks at the size of the contracts acquired by the shady Bush administration-linked mega-corporations, like Halliburton and its kind, will be convinced.

"And it all shows that the real loser is you," he said. "It is the American people and their economy."

As for President Bush's Iraq policy, Bin Laden said, "the darkness of black gold blurred his vision and insight, and he gave priority to private interests over the public interests of America.
Owned.

Interestingly enough, this also shows that, like most Americans, bin Laden has very little idea of how macroeconomics works (as well as a lacking working understanding of bankruptcy) . . .

When I'm waiting in line at the grocery store checkout, I usually grab a "Star" or "Weekly World News" to amuse myself with until it's my turn. I still remember a headline I read once explaining why Osama-dude hates the U.S. so much. Something to the effect of he tried to hook up with an American woman and she laughed at him because he has a teeny wee-wee.

Sorry; back to your regularly scheduled thread.

That's a pretty good slogan. You should copyright it.
