Original colors...

I was sitting late last night in my big green comfy chair reading the Path from Farmville... I read that Tri Sigma's colors were originally purple and moss green!! Okay, I must've missed this in the new member's meetings because this was the first time I ever heard of this! Why did our colors get changed to purple and white? Hmmm, it's like an X-File.....

I hadn't heard that about our colors. Recently though, I was told that Tri Sigma was a spin-off of Sigma Kappa. Supposedly, 4 or some # of girls from Sigma Kappa branched off to start Tri Sigma. I have never heard of this before, so I can't imagine it's true.

The whole sigma kappa thing isnt true! i dont know where you heard it from but if you read your path from farmville you will see The closest sorority we could have been is Zeta Tau Alpha because on of our founders was roomates with one of the founders of ZTA and they got into an argument and started seperate sororities. I dont even think Sigma Kappa is one of the farmville four haha anyway...its pretty funny what some peopel come up with

I honestly didn't believe that the Sigma Kappa thing was true. A lot of sororities have similar colors, magazines, badges, etc. It is an odd coincidence though that Sigma Kappa and Tri Sigma have so much in common- but it's just that- a coincidence! LOL Anyway, I'm proud of who I am and what I belong to.

Sorry to crash ladies, but I did want to make a correction of this statement

Acutally the roommates were a Sigma and a Kappa Delta, Lucy Wright and Julia Tyler.

There was a bit of controversy on which of the two sororities were former founded, it seems that both Zeta and Sigma were founded around the same time, but Sigma was announced to the community first.

I couldn't find any explination as I read on further..maybe we better get some info from National HQ on this..inquiring Sigmas want to know!

Is "The Path from Farmville" the history of Sigma Sigma Sigma? If so, it is available for purchase by a non-member? I searched for it at Amazon and B&N and found no listings.

The Path from Farmville

PGHLady,

The Path from Farmville is our Sorority history, given to all members of Sigma Sigma Sigma. It is not available for purchase by non-members (as far as I know).
