Good News From our chapter at Alabama

Our chapter at BAMA has had its fair share of problems the pass few years from hazing to low membership and a few other problems. A lot of chapters have internal problems but it is great to hear stories when they turn the corner and start to learn from their mistakes and make good things happen.
I met a few brothers and associates in Knoxville this weekend they came up for the BAMA-UT game and were really good guys. They had 23 actives at the start of the year and got 23 associates that will be initiated soon, therefore they doubled their chapter size. I was impressed with their associates knowledge and the way they spoke about their chapter, they were really pumped up to be there and said the future looks very bright.
Alabama is a bigtime greek school with a lot of history. Like a lot of schools especially with a very long greek history Lambda Chi Alpha got there later than most other fraternities but through our perserverence and hard work we made up for the lost time.
Anyway I am very glad to see this chapter back on its feet and doing well at a very prestigious greek school.
Oh yea we also beat them in football, go VOLS.

Oh yes I can. My ex is a RAGING Vols fan from East Tennessee. They would play that stupid song in bars. You'd hear it everywhere. People would dance to it! How the hell do you dance to Rockytop?

Must be the homemade liquor.

Again, if I never hear it again... lol.

I love Rockytop, at least the UF version.

Rockytop, you'll always be second in the SEC...

Just wait till we get a real coach around here...

re: Rocky Top

LOL made me think of the annual Thanksgiving weekend
game between UTenn and Vandy (supposedly Tgiving
weekend games are against your "main rival")

In case you don't know, Vandy undergrads have a
well-deserved reputation for being "very rich kids"
(I was a grad student there...not true for grad
students I can attest!), often the children of
millionaires who couldn't get their kids into ivy
league no matter how much $$$ they offered.

Of course Vandy's fball team usually sucks (they
have this stupid requirement that fball players
be able to read and write......LATIN....just kidding)
and UT always wins the game.

But the Vandy "song" at the end of the game goes:

THAT'S ALRIGHT, THAT'S OK, YOU'RE GONNA WORK FOR US
SOME DAY!

(ie. we'll be the CEOs of the companies you work for)

LOL

P.S. - since this thread is actually about BAMA:

Q: How can you tell the 'bama fans from the vandy fans at
the bama/vandy fball game?

A: By their CARS....
Bama fans have ROLL TIDE, Vandy fans have ROLLS ROYCE.

Well it looks like this has turned into a talk crap about ut thread. That is fine bring it, we are used to it surrounded by jealous fans from many neighbor states that cannot stand how good our football team is and has been for the past 100 years, with a period of mediocrity in the 70's to mid 80s. As for EM's florida crap talking. I believe we have won 3/4 in that series and Florida never really had a football program until spurrier started coaching there in the first place. Yes, he did incredible things while he was there but the SEC has completely changed and I highly doubt he will do that with the rise of UGA, Auburn and LSU and the continued success of Tennessee.
The T in tennessee stands for tradition because the only school in the SEC that has a better tradition at winning football games is Alabama. Florida on the other hand had a good team when spurrier played there and when he coached there for over 10 years, besides that UF has been a mediocre football program. With zook gone they have no trash talking ability whatsoever until they hire a new coach and they better pray that they hire Spurrier because who knows if these coaches in the small conference schools can coach in the big boys league, they have not proved themselves against superior competition on a week on week off basis.
Anyway EM congrats on the loss at Miss. St. and good luck this week vs. UGA and maybe talk trash next time UF either wins a game or beats us. PS Chris Leak will have the same course Manning had against Florida, he will never beat UT.

Oh I don't doubt that we'll lose. And Florida never had a winning tradition before Spurrier. All that is true. However I believe we can, and will become a player in the SEC again. And I'm pretty sure there wasn't much trash talking going on. Unless you count my one comment, which if it gets you that offended, then I'm sorry. UF's football team is HORRIBLE this year. I'll admit that freely, but hopefully we'll pull it together next year. Oh and I don't really care if Spurrier comes back, because his system may or may not work again, but any coach should be able to beat Vandy, South Carolina, and Miss St. with the talent that UF has.
I don't know if you've ever been to the Swamp, but it used to be the most intimdating place to play football. Now it's just another stop on the schedual, thanks to Zook, the UAA, and the police presence at the stadium. I miss those days of only a few years ago when we expected to win every game we played. We walked into the stadum with a swager and left with one too. Now we just go to watch a football game. There are some die hard fans still, like me, who will go to a game and stand for the entire time, but the Swamp is changing...I just hope Spurrier can bring back what we had, if he comes back...

Cant last long anymore!

Matt, would love you with a Swagger, that would be a hoot!

Please have a large drink in hand and a big smile on face!

Just got off of the phone with lifesaver and He said Hi! Dumb ass is driving down a Texas HGHWY! Keep the Pix of all of us a GA! Look it dailey and laff! Who is the one I have my arm around? Cannot remember Name!

Matt, in front of you in a pale blue polo!
