If you volunteer at xyz place from 3-5 or 6-9 just add up the hours. Or are you doing work that is not really clock hours walkathon, fundraiser)? Most organizations keep track by logging in when you come/leave. One place I volunteered at had us clock in. I suggest you keep a small note pad in your purse/car and write down the times you worked and the date

Our university helps us keep track of all our volunteer hours so it goes into our official transcripts. I am sure many school do this. We have a paper we have to submit to the registrar at the end of a year to get it on the transcript. When we arrive at a comm serv event we take that paper with us. We jot down what time we arrived (say, 12 p.m.) and then what time we left (say, 2 p.m.) and have the person sign off. We've accumulated 2 hours of community service.
