Fraternity Rush 2005 @ UNLV
All right, not many fraternity rush stories going on, but this is my first post, so I'll begin with my rush story.
I am a freshman at University of Nevada-Las Vegas and am majoring in Political Science and German.
Bid day is tomorrow, it's been a blast. I've met plenty of cool guys and have done many things different this time comparatively to last semester when I rushed as well.
Our campus has 13 IFC and 5 NPC (excluding NPHC). Last time I went really narrow-minded and rushed only one fraternity. It didn't go so well and I de-pledged half-way through. This time, I set my sight on more than one this time.
At the beginning of the rush period, these were the fraternities I was looking at:
1. Sigma Chi, 2. Delta Chi, 3. Tau Kappa Epsilon, 4. Lambda Chi Alpha, 5. Kappa Sigma, 6. Phi Delta Theta.
So, I went to everyone's first rush event, to just check it out.. see if I connected. Well, I eliminated two of them off the spot, cause I didn't connect so well with them.
1. Tau Kappa Epsilon, 2. Lambda Chi Alpha, 3. Kappa Sigs, 4. Phi Delta Theta were the ones that I continued to hang out with at lunch or at get-togethers else where. Well, this past Sunday, I received word that I wouldn't receive a bid from the TKEs. I held majority but I didn't get that plus one so they couldn't extend it to me.
I attended the last rush events for Lambda Chi, Kappa Sigs, and the Phi Delts. They were all cool and for the most part well organized. Bid day is tomorrow and I am pretty nervous(if there was a word to put it, might be too strong, but..) I'm pretty divided on it but.. we'll see who I choose tomorrow.
I'll post tomorrow with the results..
(For me, anybody else was/are really divided on Bid Day?)
Take care guys!
Jeff

Oh a guy's rush thread! It's always interestinng to see rush from a guy's perspective.
While we don't have Kappa Sigma here at Kent State, our Phi Delts and Lambda Chi's are really nice guys.

If it's true IFC recruitment, you could receive up to three bids to choose from...once you know where those bids are, you need to take a long hard look and decide which groups you could see yourself making a lifelong commitment to brotherhood in. That's your choice.
